Gullett, Joyce "Granny", 87, of Springfield, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. She was a loving, kindhearted, gentle woman and a very strong Christian. She never had an unkind word to say about anybody. Joyce was a creative artist with a love of sewing, dollmaking, and writing childrens' stories. Granny was famous for her chocolate gravy and her peanut butter pies. She was married to her sweetheart , Roy Gullett for 63 years. Her family was everything to her and she devoted her life to them. Joyce, along with her husband Roy, owned and operated Gullett's Market in Fairborn for many years. She was a member of Wrightview Church of the Nazarene in Fairborn for close to 50 years. Joyce was also a member of the Babes in Toyland Doll Club in Springfield for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Watson & Viola Williams; brothers Earl, Homer, Freeman, Watson Jr., and sister, Polly Curtis. Joyce is survived by her husband, Roy; her children, Deanna Gullett & husband Kevin E. Moe, Watson L. (Debbie), David R. (Barb), Dolores Bowers (John); her 8 grandchildren, Heather, Dave, Travis, Seth, Derek, Wesley, Johnathon, and Jesse; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other dear family members & friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 4 to 7pm at the Wrightview Church of the Nazarene 1612 Superior Ave., Fairborn. Funeral services, Monday, January 14, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Church. Burial in Byron Cemetery. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to Crossroads Hospice for their loving care of Joyce.
