Joyce F. Thompson

Joyce Frances (Sweat) Thompson, 72, of Dayton, passed away April 30, 2014 at her residence. She was born January 12, 1942 in Dayton, to the late George and Ruth (Slayback) Sweat. She retired from Ohio Bell after 30 years of service.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband, William Thompson; son, Stephen Sweat; grandson, Trevor Sweat; siblings, Richard (Judy) Sweat, Patricia McWhirter, Karen Hall, Mary (Charles) Schoenfeld, Ruth (Steven) Rameriz, Pamela (Ralph) Nott, Tim (Donna) Sweat, Steven (Sandy) Sweat, John (Sheryl) Sweat, Chris (Larry) Homan and Peggy (Stephen) Stringer; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 830 Bowen St. Dayton, OH, with Father Christopher Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Zion Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
