Joyce Sue Brest

Joyce Sue "Nana" Brest, age 79, of Dayton, passed away on August 5, 2023. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on May 4, 1944, the daughter of the late Bud and Burma (Blaylock) Early.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 58 years, Charles "Chuck" Brest III; and her siblings, Roberta Early, Billy Joe Early, Garland Early and Christine Campbell.

Joyce is survived by her loving children, Charles "Chuck" J. ( Jacky) Brest, IV, William "Bill" J. (Darlene) Brest and LuRita "Susie" S. Hatch; grandchildren, Danelle (Andrew Tuck) Brest, Charles "C.J." (Jamie Leis) Brest, V, Stacie Rhoades, Amy Romaca, Tony (Sameen) Barnett, Tyler (Brittany) Crummie and Jacob Cade; great grandchildren, Andrew "Drew" Tuck, Nevin Crandall, Braeden Dunkle, Trenton Rose, Aiden Crandall, Evie Dunkle, Abigail "Abbey" Tuck, Alison "Ali" Tuck, Charles "Colton" Brest, VI, Lili Withrow, Jaxon Crummie, Amirah Barnett, Adam Barnett, Ollee Morris, Kyllen Nelson and Salem Crummie; brother, Phil (Cathy) Early; and many other loving family and friends.

Joyce worked for many years as a Cook in the Xenia area. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, going fishing and spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very feisty and outgoing. Joyce also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. She adored Christmas and other holiday gatherings with her loved ones. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm, on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where a Celebration of her Life will begin at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
