Joshua Robert McCoy "Peapod"

Joshua R. McCoy “Peapod”, age 26 of Kettering, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024. He was born on December 29, 1997 in Dayton, Ohio. 

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, uncle, and special pup Dahlia.

Josh is survived by his father, Michael (Jodie) and mother, Maury (Megan); beloved twin daughters, River Lynn and Novah Jo and their mother, Erica; seven siblings, Brett (Alyssa), Devin (Sydney), Aaron, Nichole (Michael), Joe (Ashley), Ryan, and Megan; paternal grandparents, Robert and Judy; maternal grandparents, Alex and JoLynn; and bonus grandparents, Ken and Benita. He is also survived by numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Josh enjoyed spending time outdoors especially fishing, hiking, camping, and backpacking. He was a talented artist and incredibly intelligent. Josh was a self-taught tattoo artist and computer programmer including coding. He also loved to listen to music, draw, skateboard, or work on his Dodge Dakota RT 5.9L. Josh will be most remembered for his beautiful eyelashes, laughter, compassion, and empathy for others. The most important things to Josh were his twin daughters and spending quality time with his family. He is deeply loved and will forever be missed.

Memorial Gathering will be held from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH 45439). Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH 45439). Celebration of Life will follow services at the West Carrollton VFW Post 3438 (5441 Marina Drive West Carrollton, OH 45449).
