Josephine B. Marker, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother of Dayton, passed away after a lengthy illness on September 15, 2015 at The Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Marietta, Ohio, to her late parents, Frank and Wilma Foltz.
She was revered for her artistic and needlepoint skills.
Her younger brother, Robert Foltz, died in 1989 in New Carlisle, Ohio. In addition to her brother and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Brian, in 1975, and husband of more than 50 years, Ralph T. in 1999.
Josephine is survived by her children: Michael T. (Karen A.), David F. (Tina), Thomas A. (Debbie), Timothy J., Jean M. Kelley (Mike), Brian T. (Rebecca), Catherine E. (Mark) Pelham, and Mary A. (John) Kosik. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Julienne High School; completed studies at the Convent and Academy of the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana; and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish for more than 50 years.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Boulevard, Kettering, Ohio 45439. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 18, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 830 Bowen Street, Dayton, Ohio 45410. Fr. Scott Wright, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephine's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
