Josephine M. Deis

DEIS, Josephine "Jo" M., age 100, of Kettering, passed away on February 1, 2013. She was born in Superior, NB on March 25, 1912. Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George L. Deis; parents, William and Nellie Phillips; brother, Harlan Phillips; great grandson, Thomas J. Hooven, and son-in-law, Frank Patak.

Survived by 4 daughters and their spouses, Dona Patak, Josephine and George Hooven, Shirley and Floyd Douglass, Colleen Miracle, Anita and Bob Kindig; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, and 36 great great grandchildren. Jo loved to travel, took art at Rosewood, played cards, and trips to casinos. She also leaves many cousins, friends, and neighbors. She was a former Rikes employee and member of Ascension Church.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the funeral home with burial following at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
