Joseph A. Younger

Joey Younger, age 26 of Dayton, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018. He was born August 30, 1991 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Glenn Younger and Sue Blakeman.

In addition to his parents, Joey is survived by his brother, Joshua Dean Younger; sister, Samantha Kristine Younger; niece, Aubrianna; aunt, Sandra (Larry) Suttles; uncles, Donnie Blakeman and Eddi (Iris) Blakeman; great aunt, Joyce Gabbard and many extended family and friends.

Joey is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Faye Younger and maternal grandparents, Donald and Faye Blakeman.

Joey was a member of the 2011, last graduating class of New Choices Academy of Dayton and worked as a kitchen manager for Lee's Chicken on Linden Ave., Dayton. Later he worked his way into management at Smith's Liquor, Dayton. Joey was a dedicated employee with a great work ethic. When he wasn't working Joey stayed active, enjoying physical outdoor activities, his dog Chucky Ray, music and friendships. He was very social and passionate about life. Joey will always be remembered for his loyalty, generosity and protective nature.

Family will receive friends for a memorial gathering Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Columbia Hall, 4704 Burkhardt Ave, Dayton, OH 45403 . In honor of Joseph's memory, guests are encouraged to wear black and/or yellow for the event.
