TAMASKA, Joseph E., age 77, of Kettering, passed away Sat., Jan. 28, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son Randy Tamaska. Joe is survived by his wife of 54 years Margie; his son Terry Tamaska of Kettering; his daughter Tammie Napier & husband Duke of Kettering; 2 brothers Ray Tamaska & wife Ada of Bellefontaine and Bob Tamaska & wife Joyce of Springboro; 6 grandchildren Terry, Kristy, Tommy, Sarah and Jake Tamaska and Whitnie Napier and numerous nieces and nephews. He had retired from General Motors after 34 years of service, was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, played in the minor league farm systems for the Boston Braves and the Pittsburgh Pirates, is a member of the Dayton Softball Hall of Fame, was a 1946 graduate of Parker Coop High School and was voted to the All-City basketball team. Funeral services 1 P.M., Thurs., Feb. 2, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Pastor Peter Courlas officiating. Interment David's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, if so desired, may be given to Hospice of Dayton in Joe's memory. Condolences may be sent at www.Newcomerfamily.com.
