Joseph S. Bolka, age 88, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011.
Joseph was born November 19, 1922 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, to the late Stanley & Pauline Bolka.
He served in the U.S. Army 1st Ranger Battalion during WWII and was a POW for 16 months.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bernadine Bolka; children, Stanley (Randi) Bolka, Edward Bolka and Thomas (Tammy) Bolka; 4 grandchildren that he adored, Andrew, Alex, Ethan and Cecilia Bolka; sister, Sophie; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Stella Peterson.
A private graveside service will be held at the Dayton National Cemetery.
