Joseph Scurfield

SCURFIELD, Joseph B., age 71, of New Lebanon, passed away Tues., Feb. 8, 2005 at Dayton Heart Hospital. He was preceded in death by 1 brother Elmer. Joseph is survived by his wife of 44 years, Catherine; 2 daughters Cathy Miles (John) and Margie Scurfield; 2 sons John of Crestview, FL and David Scurfield; 3 brothers Thomas, Huey and James Scurfield; 4 grandchildren Ryan, Zachary, Jordan and Connor Miles and 1 great-granddaughter Hailey Miles. He retired from the Dayton V.A. Medical Center after 27 years of service, was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post 762 and AmVets Post 918. Memorial services 11 A.M., Thurs., Feb. 17, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Pastor Clyde Waites officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 - 11 A.M. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be held at Dayton National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions, if so desired, may be made to the Dayton V.A. Medical Center in Josephs memory.
