Joseph Satanek Jr.
November 15, 1927 — January 29, 2015
Joseph Satanek Jr., age 87, of Kettering, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2015.
Joseph retired from Monsanto Corp. following a career as a research chemist. He was an atomic war veteran in the U.S. Navy. Joseph was a longtime member of the Marshall Road Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Katherine Satanek; sisters, Margaret Satanek, Helen Fisher and Ruth Hanak; brother, Carl Satanek; and his first wife, Betty Henn Satanek; and granddaughter, Megan Goodpaster.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ellen Satanek; children, Linda (Keith) Goodpaster and Douglas (Diane) Satanek; step-daughters, Amanda (Ed) Grant and Melissa Blakesly; grandsons, Matt & Ben Goodpaster and Chris & Cameron Satanek; sister, Dorothy Sereday; aunt, Leona Chabanik; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 9-11 am at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 11am. Burial will take place at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hospice of Dayton.
