Rodgers, Joseph M., age 95, died July 7, 2010 at his 10 Wilmington Place home. His long time residence was on Glenbeck Avenue in Kettering. Mr. Rodgers retired from Delco Products division of General Motors Corporation after 44 years of service as a process and product engineer. He was born in Cincinnati to Joseph S. and Hettie Miller Rodgers, was a graduate of Withrow High School, and of the University of Cincinnati with a B.S.E.E. degree. Through his work he earned several patents on products and on manufacturing equipment. Mr. Rodgers had been President of the Dayton section of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, was active in the Dayton Y.M.C.A., a member of the Y.M.C.A. Metropolitan Board and a member and elder at Fairmont Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy O. Rodgers, and is survived by their two sons, Brian J. Rodgers, his wife Joyce E. and their children Aaron and Lindsey; and son David O. Rodgers, his wife Kimberly K. and their children Sam, Melina and Joseph. Visitation will take place from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday July 15, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home at 3940 South Kettering Boulevard in Kettering, OH 45439. Funeral services will take place at 10:00am on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Fairmont Presbyterian Church at 3705 Far Hills Avenue in Kettering, OH 45429 with Rev. Denise W. Ingram officiating.
