Joseph Kelly

Joseph "Joe" Kelly, age 87, currently of Oakwood, Ohio died peacefully on March 12, 2015 at Kettering Hospital. The youngest son of the late Martin and Bridget Kelly of County Galway Ireland, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Pake (London, England) and James (Galway, Ireland); and his sisters: Chris (Galway, Ireland), Molly (Centerville, Ohio) and Bridie (Manchester, England).

He is survived by his loving wife, Annie "Nan" Kelly, currently residing in Oakwood, Ohio as well as numerous nephews and nieces residing both in Counties Clare, Galway, Westmeath & Limerick Ireland, Manchester, England and the New York, Florida and Ohio areas in the US.

Joe came to the US in the early 1950's, lived on East 83rd. St. in Yorkville (upper east side) and until his retirement spent 40 years as the Doorman at 875 5th. Avenue in NY, an upscale apartment cooperative complex. Joe was a loving and caring son, brother, husband and uncle who will live on in the hearts of those of us who loved him and whom he generously supported and mentored during his life. Joe loved animals, especially three dogs named Bugsy, Betsy and Cocoa.

A viewing will take place on Monday March 16, 2015 at 11:30 am at Saint Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, Ohio, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens, Centerville, Ohio. Arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd.
