Joseph "Joe"P. Maranto

Joseph "Joe" P. Maranto, age 84 of Bellbrook, Ohio passed away peacefully on April 7, 2021. He was born March 17, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland son of the late Francis Maranto and Mary Shipley.

Joe was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. Joe proudly served in the United States Marines. Joe retired from Bethelem Steel and US Steel after a combined 42 years of dedicated employment. Joe loved being outdoors working on his many projects with his Koi Fish Pond, Oriental Trees, unique flowers and bushes, and he loved his plush green lawn. Joe loved his family and they were his pride and joy. He also loved to travel with his family to many different destinations. Joe is going to be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded by his daughter, Cathy Maranto; and close cousin, Frank Nelson.

Joe is survived by his wife of 37 years, Berdie Maranto; children, Joe (Nancy) Maranto and Carole (Jerry) French; grandchildren, Beau Fighera, Clare and Michael Maranto, Jared and Ava French; sisters, Christine (Bernie) Thuman and Debbie (Tony) Luciano; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 5-7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi (6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, Ohio 45459).

The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask mandate that requires that face masks be worn in all public places.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Joe's honor to the Dayton VA.
