Joseph P. Jenkins, "Joe," passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 12, 2021. He was 93 years young, born in Waukegan, Illinois on July 20, 1927, to the late Fred and Esther Jenkins.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy J. (Krieger) Jenkins.
Joe is survived by his loving children, Debbie (Fred) Sears, Mick (Frances) Jenkins, Pattie (Ron) Luebke, Dave Jenkins; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; special friend, Evelyn Nealeigh; as well as many friends.
Joe graduated from high school and joined the Navy in 1945, and served his country at the end of WWII. He worked at Ohio Bell. After retirement, he got another job at Lexis Nexis. He was a fun, loving person who enjoyed bowling, woodworking, ice cream, softball and ping pong. He traveled all over playing in Senior tournaments until the age of 91. He also enjoyed going to Marathon, FL in the winter. Joe was a huge UD Flyers basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball fan. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). Funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face masks will be worn in all public places.
