Joseph Robert Hripko "Joe" was born on July 1, 1939 in Youngstown, OH, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anne Marie (Takach) Hripko, and he leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary V. Hripko of 51 years, and three children, Michael (Samantha), Christopher, and Stephanie as well as three beloved granddaughters, Alyson, Sarah (Michael) and Katelyn (Christopher). In addition, Joe leaves behind a sister, Barbara (Richard) Boughner; brothers-in-law, Henry (Claudie) Hripko and John (Lisa) Hripko and several nieces, and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
He graduated from Chaney High School in Youngstown, OH, Ohio Northern University and The Ohio State University.
Joe was a registered Pharmacist for over 50 years in various positions (consultant/geriatrics and hospital pharmacy). He was a published author in pharmaceutical journals throughout the years. Additionally, he was also a longtime member of Mensa (The High IQ Society). He was close to his family and spent his time with his children and granddaughters as much as he could. Joe was also an avid reader, and enjoyed attending musicals/theater/film performances and admired the history of President Lincoln.
There will be a Mass on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Church of the Incarnation (55 Williamsburg Lane, Dayton, 45459) at 11:00 AM. "The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face mask will be worn in all public places."
