Joseph Frederic Gilles, 93 of Centerville died Sunday, December 25, 2005 at Bethany Lutheran Village. Mr. Gilles was born February 13, 1912 at Pesotum, IL, the son of Joseph and Christina Kleiss Gilles. He was married February 22, 1941 to Bessie E. Chapman, who preceded him in death. On November 8, 1986 he was married to Bettie C. Hungling who survives. Other survivors are stepson Timothy G. Hungling, his wife Penny, and daughters Heidi and Mandy. Also stepdaughter Linda Curtoys and her husband Dr. Jeremy Curtoys. Fred was a graduate of Tuscola, IL High School and Brown's Business College, Champaign, IL. Employed continually for 36 years with Federal agencies, concluding with U.S. Air Force, WPAFB, OH. An avid golfer, he had attended 37 Masters Tournaments in Augusta, GA. He was a lifelong Catholic, and a member of St. Albert the Great Parish. Also a member of the Quarter Century Club WPAFB; National Assn. of Retired Federal Employees; and the Dayton Dog Training Club. Friends will gather from 6-8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Wednesday, December 28th. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, December 29th at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Father Jim Manning, celebrant. Entombment Woodland Mausoleum.
