Joseph E. McGuffin
Age 61, of Hawthorne, California, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2006. He was the Administrative Officer for the Los Angeles Flight Standards District Office and had 16 years with the FAA. He had retired as a Senior Master Sergeant after serving 25 years with the U. S. Air Force. He had a total of 41 years of federal service. He is preceded in death by his son, Joseph Nicholas McGuffin, mother, Helen McGuffin and sister, Pamela Vance. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Maria and his father, Rufus E. McGuffin. Also surviving are his siblings, Elaine Harrington, Gloria Traylor, Patricia Thress, Miles McGuffin and Angel Fox. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, with funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Dayton National Cemetery.
