Joseph Dyer, Jr.

Joseph "Andy" Dyer, Jr., age 44 of Dayton, passed away August 17, 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 15, 1969 in Dayton.

Andy is survived by devoted and loving mother, Mary Lou Dyer; devoted and loving father, Joseph Andrew Dyer, Sr. and his wife, Carolyn; sisters: Cathy Miller, Victoria Dyer-Simpson (Ronnie) and Cindy Keller (Dave); step-brother, Rick McBride (Tina); nephews: Steve and Joseph Ledbetter, and Tristan McBride; nieces: Rindy Roberts, Casey Miller, Hayley Keller and Madison McBride; great nephews: Skyler Ledbetter, Blake and Brennan Roberts; and great niece, Mekenna Ledbetter; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Andy was blessed to have numerous great friends, including best friend, Tony Burchett. Andy is also survived by his dog, Maddie who was his pride and joy.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, from 5-7 pm. Andy fought his battle with such courage and determination. As a family, we know that he is at peace and no longer in pain. We will miss Andy so much and our hearts are broken. The family would like to thank the caring nurses and doctors at Miami Valley Hospital, especially Dr. Clune, Dr. Paessun and Pulmonary Critical Care Nurse, Pat. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Andy's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
