Joseph Anthony Coleman III, 72, of Dayton, Ohio passed away on October 23, 2023.
Joe was born in Troy, NY on August 27, 1951. He graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1969. Joe went on to attend Plattsburg State University, graduating with a degree in Communications and later secured his MBA through Xavier University. He embarked upon a career path of food and hospitality leading to the opening of his own restaurant in 1988 called Coleman's Public House. Following his days as a restauranteur, Joe maintained his culinary drive while pursuing other entrepreneurial endeavors. This led him to be independently licensed as an Insurance Agent. He then moved on to be the owner/operator of Mobile Automotive Reconditioning Service (MARS Intl). In his later years, Joe shared his passions by teaching others as an adjunct professor at Sinclair Community College.
Joe met his wife of 50 years, Lynn, at Cohoes High School and married in 1973. Together they moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1978. They had their first child, Caitlin, in 1982 and their son, Joe IV, in 1985. Joe was a constant provider for his family – taking care of all things unseen and loving his family the best way he knew how, through food.
Joe is predeceased in death by his parents: Jeanne and Joe Coleman; sister, Deborah; and brother, Jeff. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; daughter, Caitlin (Matthew) Buck; and son, Joseph (Karah) Coleman IV; granddaughter Evelynn Buck; grandsons: Lucas Buck; Miles Buck; Joseph Coleman V, Gabriel Coleman and Franklin Coleman; sister Cindy (Bill) House and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 29 at Newcomer Funeral Home - 4104 Needmore Rd. in Dayton, Ohio 45424. Service to follow.
