Joseph Patrick "Pat" Boone (84) of Beavercreek passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family on September 5, 2019. Pat worked for Wright Patterson AFB for 35 years as a civilian electrical engineer where he worked on the F-16 aircraft and remotely-piloted vehicles.
A devoted family man, Pat enjoyed spending the majority of his time with his wife, four children, 13 grandchildren who adored and idolized him, and 10 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed reading, traveling, cycling, tennis, tinkering, vacationing with family, and making wine. Among his other talents, Pat was a published author who wrote poetry, short stories about family and his childhood, and also published his grandchildren's writings.
Born March 9, 1935 in Louisville, KY, Pat was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Martina Boone; brothers Dave, Louis, Kirby, Martin, George, Frank, and three brothers who passed away in infancy; sister Mary Rose; and beloved grandson and namesake, Kevin Patrick Boone.
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley Boone; daughter Rachel Bell (Peter Trimpe); sons Gary Boone (Beate), Jay (Cathie) Boone, Aaron (Marcey) Boone; grandchildren Sarah, Andrea, Alana, Brian, Michael, Victoria, Martina, Nathan, Julia, Jarrod, Kyle, and Logan; great-grandchildren Abigail, Samuel, Gabriel, Connor, Gweneth, Katherine, Elliott, Amelia, Theodore, Alexander, and an expected 11th great-grandchild in October. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Earl Boone of Pittsburgh, PA as well as numerous other family members.
A memorial service will be held Sept. 14, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH. Family and friends will be received from 4- 6 p.m. Guests will be invited to share memories with the family at 5:00 p.m.
