Joseph B. Gilley, Jr.

JOSEPH BENJAMIN GILLEY, JR. (JOE, JB), 66, departed this life on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. He was born in Monticello, Florida February 16, 1945, to Joseph and Laura Gilley. He lived in his hometown until age 18, and then later moved to Ohio.

He confessed Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 12 under Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Metcalf, GA. He received his high school diploma from Howard Academy High School in Monticello, FL. His advance education, license and professions over the years of his life were associated with barber, cosmetology and chef.

He leaves to his memory: two daughters, Zeporia Gilmore-Bass, and Sonia Wilson (Elder Anthony); six sisters, Emma White (Jerry), Gerline Great, Melrose Hayes, Annie Presley, Linda Pleasant (Rev. James), and Essie Gilley; three brothers, Harris Gilley , Raymond Gilley (Gina), and Harold Gilley; one sister-in-law, Betty Gilley; three grandchildren, Vashund Gilmore, Lexus Wilson, and Breana Wilson; one uncle, Joe Gilley (Anna Mae); one aunt, Hattie Mae Gilley; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and other surrounding and devoted friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
