Josefina "Josie" Loftis

Josefina "Josie" Loftis, age 71 of Dayton, Ohio passed away with her family by her side on January 13, 2025. She was born December 25, 1953 in Pampanga, Philippines daughter of the late Marciano and Anastacia (Tayag) Briones Sr.

Josie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and watching her shows on the Filipino channel. She was a member of the Living By Faith Ministries Church for many years. She retired from the Pine Club after 30 plus years of employment. Josie loved her grandkids and her family was her pride and joy that she loved dearly. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. 

Josie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jay Loftis; children, Frederick (Stephanie Yates) Loftis, Jayne Loftis; grandchildren, Megan Yates Loftis, Frederick Yates-Loftis, Matthew Loftis, Michael Loftis. Annalee Triftshouser, Emma Mae Triftshouser, and Molly Jo Triftshouser; great granddaughter, Annastasia Bones; siblings, Marciano Briones Jr., Rolando (Amor) Briones, Jose Briones, Anita Briones; as well as numerous other family members and friends both in the Philippines and United States. 

The family will received friends and family on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 9:30am to 10:30am. A funeral service will begin at 10:30am. Burial services will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions can be made in Josie's honor to the American Heart Association.
