Jose D. Menchaca

Jose D. Menchaca, age 88, entered into rest on Monday, November 9, 2020 in Beavercreek, Ohio. Jose was born in Del Rio, Texas to Ernesto Menchaca and Antonia DeLéon Menchaca on March 23, 1932. He went to San Felipe Schools in Del Rio. He married Yolanda Trevino in 1962 in Del Rio, Texas. He worked in civil service at Laughlin AFB, Texas, for much of his life and was a Veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Marine Corps. Jose greatly enjoyed gardening, painting, and being a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ernesto and Antonia Menchaca; sister Marina Gonzalez; brothers Efrain Menchaca, Sr., Armando Menchaca, and Antonio Menchaca.

Surviving him is his wife Yolanda Menchaca; brother Victor Menchaca and sister Alicia Zuniga. Jose is also survived by his children Joe Menchaca, Jr. (Elizabeth J.), Ernie Menchaca, and Jerry Menchaca; his grandchildren Kristen, Erin, Ryan, Kevin, Marc, Kathleen, Patrick, Nolan, Gabe and Mia; and his great-grandchildren Reagan, Moses, Oliver, and Milo.

Visitation will be held on Sunday November 15, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 pm with the service following at 4:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road).

Interment will follow at the Dayton National Cemetery.
