Jonathan Daniel Vanderpool, "Jon Jon," age 17 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Dayton Children's Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born April 12, 2000 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Jonathan Vanderpool Sr. and Christina Gibson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Christina (William) Gibson; father, Jonathan (Alyssa) Vanderpool Sr.; sisters, Alicia Vanderpool, Kelsey Vanderpool; niece, Skylar Snyder; two maternal grandmothers, Lupe (Jim) Woolum, Rosemary Gibson; paternal grandmother, Janie (Gus) Vanderpool; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jonathan was an old soul who was wise beyond his years. He was caring, helpful, giving and considerate. He loved fishing, working on cars and would fix anything - even if it wasn't broken. He touched many, many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Newcomer South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11 am, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. #JONJONSTRONG
