Johnny Lee "PBR" Shilt, age 74, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
Johnny was born in Dayton on November 8, 1949 to the late Eugene & Helen Shilt.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Emerson Shilt, Mike Shilt and Robert Shilt.
Johnny is survived by former wife and friend, Charlene Jones; daughter, Tammy Lewis; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Rodney Shilt; nephews, Daniel Shilt and Eugene Shilt; niece, Bonnie Roark; beloved dog, Trego; and many other relatives and friends.
Johnny graduated from Northridge H.S. Class of 1969. He proudly serviced in the U.S. Navy. Johnny retired from General Motors. He was a member of the VFW Post #9936, American Legion Post#746, the Irish Club, Eagle's Club, Moose Lodge and Queen of Martyrs Church. Johnny was an avid fan of the WWE, Elvis and the biggest Tennessee Titans fan. He could often be seen driving around town in his Sling Shot. Johnny was a staple at Wings Sports Bar & Grille. He was a huge supporter of anything associated with Northridge. Johnny was always there for his daughter, Tammy through cheer leading and drill team in high school and into her adulthood.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4-6pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 11am at Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 4144 Cedar Ridge Rd, Dayton, OH 45414.
Johnny will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
