Cleghorn, Johnnie A., age 88, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Johnnie was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving in the South Pacific during WWII. Johnnie retired from General Motors with over 38 years of service. He was an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God and served as Associate Pastor with Calvary Open Bible Church for 42 years.
Johnnie is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years: Pearl (Watson) Cleghorn; sons and daughters-in-law: Michael & Pamela Cleghorn, Marcus & Nancy Cleghorn; grandchildren: Joel (Christina) Cleghorn, Candace (Russell) Carter, Mark (Brenda) Cleghorn, Jamie (Sean) Baker; great grandchildren: Josiah, Emylee, Tyler, Brittany, Devyn, Hannah & Riley; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: John Cleghorn; mother: Effie Cleghorn Conley; step father: Wade Conley; great-granddaughter: Jessica Cleghorn; six sisters and eight brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at New Beginnings Church of God, 6649 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424. Interment with Military Honors will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in West Alexandria, Ohio. The family will receive friends AT CHURCH on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M. and on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.
