John Zambenini

John Douglas Zambenini, 55, of Beavercreek, OH passed away at home on Saturday, December 7, 2013, ending a nine-year fight with cancer. He was born September 8, 1958 to Col. Robert L. Zambenini (Ret.) and Joyce S. Zambenini.
John moved to Beavercreek in 1970 where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Hodson Zambenini, and raised his children, John and Audrey. John was loved by family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and those he served during his 28-year career in the home-improvement industry.
A man of great faith, John was a humbling witness to the self-emptying love of Christ through his demeanor and conduct. In his sacrificial love for his wife and family, longsuffering grace throughout his illness, and joyful outlook, he modeled Christian charity and God's love for the world.
Known as a man of great character and wisdom, he was an avid Bible reader with an affinity for science and history.
John is survived by his spouse of 31 years, Pam; two children, John R. Zambenini & wife Minda, of Durham, NC, and Audrey Zambenini Roe & husband Caleb, of Dayton, OH; parents Robert & Joyce Zambenini of CA; brother Jim Zambenini of CA; father and mother-in-law, Richard & Marjorie Hodson of Beavercreek, siblings-in-law Gregory & Vickie Nicholas, Steven & Laura Hodson, Tony & Jennifer VanderStok and their families. They, among countless others, love and miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at The Vineyard Church, 4051 Indian Ripple Rd., Beavercreek, OH with visitation to follow. Private family burial. In John's memory donations may be made to Hope Foundation of Greater Dayton at hope4dayton.com or to Arbre de Vie orphanage in Benin, Africa at treeoflifeusa.org.
