MINEHART, John, age 65, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011. He is preceded in death by his father, John C. Minehart and brother, Thomas E. Minehart.
John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet Minehart; children, Jerrold (Missy) Minehart and Christine Minehart; grandchildren, Robert Hardin and Dustin Bramble; mother, Marjorie Compton; siblings, Richard (Rita) Minehart, Larry (Darlene) Minehart, Robert (Kathy) Minehart, Mary (Jerry) Combs, and Kenneth (Terry) Minehart; sister-in-law, Marlene Minehart, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and other family.
He was a Vietnam veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. John was also a lifetime member of Amvets and the American Legion Post 526. He retired after 22 years of Federal civilian service from WPAFB. John worked for Sherman Tool & Dye for 19 years. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of Lyre Lake Fishing Club. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of VITAS Hospice for their care and compassion.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, with services to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VITAS Hospice or John's family.
