John "Jack" W. Steggemann, 68, of Troy, Ohio passed away on November 1, 2014 in his home following a short illness. He was born on October 20, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio to the late William and Catherine (Burgmeier) Steggemann.
Jack served two tours in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict aboard The Independence. He worked in lawn care for almost 50 years and was a member of American Legion Post 586 in Tipp City, Vandalia VFW, and Loyal Order of the Moose, of Troy.
Jack is survived by his Wife of 31 years, Deborah A. (Jones) Steggemann; children, Thomas W. Steggemann, Jennifer L. (Jared) Horner, Jill A. Bradley; grandchildren, Jedd, Jace and Josie-Lou Horner, Lorynn, Caleb and Emily Bradley; sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; niece and nephew; great nieces and nephews; several cousins and many good friends.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday, November 7, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home North Chapel (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton), where his Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday with burial to follow at Forrest Hills Memorial Garden in Tipp City.
At Jack's request this is to be a casual Celebration of his life.
