John Wayne Whaley

John Wayne Whaley, age 71, of Dayton, passed away on January 18, 2022, at the VA Medical Center in Dayton. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 1, 1950, the son of the late Archie and Frances Whaley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joy Bandy and Joan Whaley Donaldson; and his brother-in-law, Donald Mowen.
John is survived by his loving sister, Janet Mowen; nephews, Donald Mowen, Jr. and Clifton Donaldson; nieces, Rebecca Mowen and Casey Mowen; and many other loving family and friends.
John retired from TKO Manufacturing, after many years of employment. He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Marine Corps. In his free time, he enjoyed photography and story-telling. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
Graveside Military Services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 1:00pm at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Dayton VA Medical Center, Voluntary Services (135), 4100 West Third St., Dayton, Ohio 45428.
