John H. Wetz Jr., age 92 of Kettering, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Preserve of Beavercreek. He was born March 22, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio the son of John and Katherine Wetz Sr.
John worked as an orthodist for many years and owned Buckeye Orthopedic. After retiring, he worked at Walmart for several years. John enjoyed fishing, camping, jewelry making and horseshoes. He and his wife enjoyed visiting the local casinos and visiting casinos in Tunica, Mississippi. They spent many mornings walking at Town and Country and had coffee with friends afterwards. The family also enjoyed their time at Indian Lake over the summers, fishing and campfires.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Wanda; his parents; son, John Michael Wetz and grandson, Brandon Haskins.
John is survived by two daughters, Jackie (Gary) Bush & Sandy Haskins; five grandchildren, Amanda McKenzie, Andrea (Aaron) Morris, John Wetz, Sara Haskins & Aimee Haskins; three great grandchildren, Hailey, Brayden and Teddy; sister, Thelma Martyne and other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in John's honor to the American Parkinson's Disease Association at PO Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306.
Visitation will be November 18, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a service at 12:00 pm at Newcomer - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). John will be laid to rest by his wife at Miami Valley Memory Gardens privately.
