John W. Stewart, age 78 of Xenia, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 19, 2022. He was born June 10, 1943 in East Liverpool, Ohio son of the late Elmer and Mildred Stewart.
John was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran and Patriot. He retired as a Machinist after 30 plus years of dedicated employment. John participated in the Livestrong group at the Xenia YMCA. He enjoyed being with family and friends and bringing laughter to those around him. John's pride and joy was spending time with his grandchildren and watching them participate in all sporting events. He is going to be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest; sisters, Delores, Jean, Betty Jane, Alice, and Emma; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Stewart.
John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie Stewart; children, Angela Chamblin, Gregory Stewart, Brandon (Angela) Stewart, and Amber (Jeremy) Smith; grandchildren, Miranda, Jaymie, Chazz, Vance, Kellee, Shane (Abby), Shawn, Lily, Paige, Evan, Connor, Cian, Landon, Tate, and Ezali; siblings, Estella York, Helen (Larry) Smith, and Elmer (Vicky) Stewart; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 12-2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A funeral service will begin at 2pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made in John's honor to Hospice of Dayton.
