John W. Price
Architect of Medway, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011, at the age of 80.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Gloria M. Price in 2010; his parents, Harold W. & Chalma R. (Hale) Price; and by one sister, Thelma.
John is survived by two sons, Keith H. Price & his fiancé, Liza Case and Keith A. Bowers; one daughter, Julie Price; four grandchildren; one sister, Anna Lee; and by his extended family & many good friends.
John was born in Marion, Indiana. He served during the Korean Conflict with the U. S. Army, Far East Command and was honorably discharged. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.S. Degree in Architecture. He was a life-member of the American Legion, 40 et 8, AMVETS and the VFW. He was a Registered Architect in five states and was certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He was certified by the State of Ohio as a Master Plans Examiner, was a past member of the AIA, CSI, ICC and the Miami Valley Building Officials Council. He was employed in Cincinnati and Dayton and served as an Architect and Vice-President for Wilcon Corp for sixteen years, retiring in 1993. He maintained a consulting business afterwards.
The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday at the funeral home with interment to follow at the Dayton National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of John to the Shriners Hospital Burn Center, 3229 Burnett Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229 in honor of his step-son, John O. Ferris.
