Age 71, of New Carlisle passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011.
John is survived by his wife of the past 49 years, Barbara L. (King) Collins; two children, Lori and Eric Collins; one granddaughter, Sonia Poling; five siblings, Joyce Byers, Carl and Robert Collins, Mary McDonald & Barbara Barnett; and by his extended family & many good friends.
John was an avid gardener and tinkerer – his specialty was tomatoes. He retired as a truck driver with 32 years of service and he was a member of the Local # 957 Teamsters Union.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery.
