John Victor Fidler, 87, of Huber Heights, passed away on January 3, 2015 at Dayton V.A. Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 24, 1927 in Ontario, Canada to the late Stephen and Bernice (Dodridge) Fidler.
John is a US Army Veteran who honorably served his country completing two tours of duty during WWII. He retired as a Machinist after working 38 years at International Tool and Die. John was a member of Victory Temple Church in Fairborn, Ohio.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife and mother of two of his children, Lorraine Fidler; sister, Marion Fidler; son, Eugene H. Decker Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lila Fidler; devoted children, John S. (Shelly) Fidler, Terri L. (Clinton) Stinson, MD, Kathe Pence, Cheryl Young, Cyndi (James) Simpkins; grandchildren, Jason, Tricia, Alicia, Victoria, Cassandra, Heather, Ryan, Rebekah; great grandchildren, Lexi, Kyleigh, Alec, Avery, Luke, Baylee; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and their families, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of good friends.
Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton 45424 where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, with Pastors, James Simpkins and Timothy Walden officiating.
Burial at New Carlisle Cemetery.
