VAN VOORHIS, Dr. John Jay 90, a retired WWII Artillery Colonel, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sarah Van Voorhis, brother, Glen Van Voorhis, and sister, Alice Stull.
Carol, his loving wife of 47 years, and sisters, Evelyn Crowe, and Lucile Hickman survive John.
John graduated from The Ohio State University and then from the University of Michigan with a PhD in Physical Chemistry. John worked in NCR's Research Department.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 15 at 10:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45432). Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 14 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to The Hospice of Dayton, in his memory.
