John V. Kleperis

KLEPERIS, Col. John V., age 71, of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, December 29, 2006. He was born June 19, 1935 in Riga, Latvia, the son of Otto and Elza (Zarins) Kleperis. Retired Colonel of the United States Air Force, he served three years in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam Era. He was a member Tau Beta PI and Sig Phi Epsilon Fraternities, registered professional engineer in the state of Ohio, member of the Order of the Daedalians, and past chairman of A.I.W.F. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret (Peb) Kleperis; two sons, John V. Kleperis, Jr. and Rich W. Kleperis; one brother, Otis Kleperis. He was preceded in death by both parents. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel where funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
