John R. Stoops

John Stoops, 84, of Dayton, passed away on December 22, 2018. He was born on January 4, 1934 to Oral and Louise Stoops (Downey). He married Alice Scott on July 12, 1957. John and Alice lived in the Dayton, OH area. John was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Alice; both parents; daughter, Victoria (David) Maurice; brother, Oral Joseph Stoops; and sister, Arlene Spurlock. John is survived by his sons, Roger (Aieta) and Terry Stoops, granddaughters Rachel and Leticia, brother Ronald, sisters Ann Bedosky and Kathleen Hamilton; a host of nieces and nephews, and many friends in the congregation. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in July 1959, was a member of the Salem Congregation, and served as a full-time minister since 1982. He was a journeyman electrician in I.B.E.W. Local 82, and used his skills in building Kingdom Halls.. The funeral will be 2 PM, January 5, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1530 N James H McGee Blvd, Dayton, Ohio. Visitation will be at 1 PM.
