John Franklin Shuster, age 91, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2023. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1931, the son of Wilbur and Bernice Shuster, and attended Withrow High School in Cincinnati, Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio and then received his MBA from Northwestern University in Chicago.
Following a tour in the United States Air Force, he spent most of his career with the Proctor & Gamble Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, marketing such brands as Jif Peanut Butter, Crisco Oil, Duncan Hines Mixes, Pringles and Folgers Coffee. Following retirement, he and his first wife Patty were actively involved in restoring their family farm in Lucasville, Ohio. The architectural masterpiece of a barn that they built has found a new purpose as the site of weddings and significant family and community events.
His loving first wife, Patty Kline Shuster, of Lucasville, passed away in July 2016. John is survived by his loving second wife, Arlene Tipton Shuster of Beavercreek, and his three children Pamela Trombley of Harbor Springs, Michigan, Sherri Hicks of Chicago, Illinois and Dr. John Kline Shuster of Spokane, Washington. His eight grandchildren include Geoffrey Sieron and Nicholas Trombley of Denver, Colorado, Brittany Hicks Dweck, Patty Hicks, Kimble Hicks and Jessica Shuster of Chicago, Illinois, Lauren Hicks Drinan of Las Vegas, and John T Shuster of Madison, Wisconsin. He was blessed with only one great grandchild so far, Noah Dweck.
Graveside service to be held at Lucasville Cemetery (206 Jackson St. Lucasville, Ohio 45648) on Saturday June 3rd, 2023 at 12:00 pm.
