John Konstantine Scott, 41, of Dayton Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, March 17, 2023
surrounded by his family. He was born in Dayton Ohio on February 18, 1982 to Glenn Scott and
Dawn McCray (Walsh). He brought great joy to his parents and to the entire extended family. As
a child, John, his mother and stepfather Jim moved to Mason Ohio, where he went to school
and developed a lifelong love of soccer and golf. He graduated from New Palestine High School
in Indiana in 2000, he attended Ball State University, and later graduated from Sinclair
Community College, with a degree in Graphic Production. Although he did not work in that field,
he was exceptionally talented and truly enjoyed art and illustration.
For many years, he worked in many capacities at Outback Steakhouse, and eventually went to
work at Setters Volleyball Club as a professional bartender. His warm and friendly personality
endeared him to many. John continued to play soccer into adulthood and had a great passion
for golf. He participated in tournaments throughout the years, but especially enjoyed the
invitational tournament at Maple Creek Country Club with his stepfather Jim. Along with his
passion for golf, John also loved his trips to Canada with his father Glenn, where he found his
love and appreciation for the outdoors.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe McCray and Julie Broadbeck, and his
aunt Karen Scott Gardner. He leaves behind his father, Glenn Scott, his mother and stepfather
Jim and Dawn Walsh, sisters, Angeleah Smith, (Michael Pollard) Josie Sutton (Colton), Sheena
McCormick (Shawn) and Yolanda Wormley (Darnell). Other relatives include his Uncle John and
Aunt Laura Scott, Julian, Danielle, and Johanna Scott, Shelby Scott (Eric), Steve and Brennan
Gardner, Maggie, Gardner, Nick, Gardner, Kent Mccray, grandparents, Charles, and Kate Scott,
and Chuck and Wanda Walsh. He also leaves the love of his life, Mandy Thaman, as well as
myriads of dear friends.
John opted to be an organ donor, an unselfish act that will allow him to live on in some way, and
will allow someone to live a better life because of him. May his memory be eternal and may he
rest in peace
There will be no funeral service, however, there will be a celebration of his life, scheduled
for April 29 at Setter's Volleyball Club located at 1008 Gateway Dr, Dayton, OH 45404
from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM
