John B. Sauerland, Sr.

John B. Sauerland, Sr. age 80, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2022.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio, to William and Dorothy (Nock) Sauerland on January 27, 1942, as the fifth of nine children.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Carole S. Sauerland.
He is survived by his three children Julie (Michael) Finley, Wendy (Mike) Kordik, and John (Stacy) Jr.; and his five grandchildren: Jacob (Rachel) Kordik, Nicholas Jones, Allison Kordik, Lindsey Sauerland, and Ashley Sauerland. He is also survived by his sister, Liz Faulkner; his brother James (Carolyn) Sauerland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
John grew up in Dayton and Beavercreek and attended Beavercreek High School. He worked for Lumber Mart for many years and then started a construction career building houses. He retired from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. John loved classic cars and attending car shows.
His family would like to thank the staff at Miller Farm Assisted Living, where he lived for the last three years. Thank you to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County for providing excellent end of life care.
A graveside service for the cremains of John and Carole will take place on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at noon at Miami Valley Memory Gardens
1639 E Lytle 5 Points Rd, Centerville, OH 45458. In the event of inclement weather the service will be in the chapel.
