John W. Rogers, 90, of Xenia, passed away March 8, 2017. John was born in Xenia, Ohio on May 31, 1926 to the late Herman and Mary Rogers. John proudly served in the United States Air Force during WWII. He retired from the USPS after 37 years of service. He also worked at Walmart for over 20 years. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wives, Juanita Rogers (28 years), Juanita "Tooty" Rogers (5 years), Gladys Rogers (23 years); daughter, Regina Rogers; and brothers, Jim and Robert Leroy Rogers.
He is survived by his son, Kevin (Lisa) Rogers, step son, Ed (Donna) Stephenson; step daughter, Linda (Gary) Carpenter; grandchildren, Abram Carpenter, Paul Carpenter, Leah Carpenter, Daniel Carpenter, Thomas Carpenter, Caleb Carpenter, Hannah Carpenter, Grace Carpenter, Isaac Carpenter, James Carpenter, Gene Stephenson, Deanna Stephenson, Shannon Stills; several great grandchildren including, Tre (Cieara) Stills, Akayla Stills; great great grandson, Braylen Stills; sister in law, Evelyn Rogers; and many other relatives and special friends.
A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, where funeral services will begin at 7pm with Sam Vanhoose officiating. A private inurnment will be at Dayton National Cemetery.
