BUTLER, John R. age 66 of Kettering, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2006. He was born in Xenia, OH on May 24, 1940, graduated from Xenia High School in 1958 and Calvary Bible College in 1963 with honors. He was a caseworker for the Kansas Dept. of Public Welfare in Kansas City. After returning to the Dayton area, he was a teacher at RETS and Southwestern College of Business. He was preceded in death by his mother Rosella "Rosie" Terrell in 2005. He is survived by Sue, his loving wife of 21 years, his daughters Karen (Tim) Shields and Carol Butler (Glenn Brown); stepsons Stephen Long, and Kevin (Betty) Long; grandchildren Mary and Johnny Shields, Sarah and Hannah Long; sisters Marsha (Paul) Routzong and Linda (Dennis) Sukie; special devoted cousin Donna VanBuren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home 3940 Kettering Blvd. Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment at Heritage Hills Memorial Gardens, Springboro, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in John's memory.
