John R. Cox, Sr.

John R. Cox, Sr., age 74 of Vandalia, passed away January 2, 2016. He was born November 5, 1941 in Dayton to the late Leslie and Ruby (Anderson) Cox. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by numerous siblings; brother-in-law, Ike DeLong and sister-in-law, Mary DeLong.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patti Cox; son, John R. (Lori) Cox, Jr.; daughter, Amy (Scott) Miller; grandchildren, Sarah (Matt), Krysten (Don), Michael, Christopher, and Matt; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Maddie, Avyn, Avery, Lily, Kyleigh, and Parker; sister, Ellen Stitz; sister-in-law, Diana Ransdell, and numerous nieces, nephews extended family and friends.

John served his country in the U.S Air Force and was a member of AmVets 99 of Vandalia. He worked and retired from General Motors after 35 years of service. John retired from Circuits and Cables following 14 years of work.
