POWELL, John Roy, age 86, of Beavercreek, passed away on September 24, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 33 years, Gerry; children, Pat, Susan (Dan), Roy (Sandy), Betty (Matt), and Ann (Dave); grandchildren, David (Amanda), Pam (Andy), Alan (Jenny), Brian M. (Christina), Brian W., Laura (David), and Rachel; great grandchildren, Adeline, Lucas, Alice, Jacob, and Abigail, and sibling, Avery (Pat).
John graduated from Tennessee Tech with a Bachelor's in Engineering. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and retired from General Motors after 32 years of service.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. A service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd., Kettering with burial following at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville.
