John Paul Campbell
Age 88, of Huber Heights, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009.
John was preceded in death by two brothers, Kendig Campbell and Byron Campbell.
He is survived by his wife of the past 38 years, Edith M. (Curtis) Campbell; three children, Patricia (Ronald) Burnside, David (the late, Deborah) Campbell and Douglas (Andrea) Campbell; three step-children, Richie Isbell, Kenneth (Jackie) Isbell and Thurman (Linda) Isbell; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; one brother, William (Pat) Campbell; special niece, Arlean Slaven; and by his extended family and many good friends.
John was a WW II U. S. Army veteran having served in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port St. Lucie, Florida. He retired from Inland Manufacturing with 30 years of service. He enjoyed quilting, cooking & baking and fishing. John enjoyed traveling with Edith. At one point they were "on the road" for two years and visited all 50 states and many foreign countries.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of John to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
