John Newman, Jr

NEWMAN, John B. Jr., age 80, departed this life on September 18, 2007 at this home in Dayton. John was born August 15, 1927 in New Orleans, Louisiana. At a very young age John helped support his family by shining shoes. John then moved to Houma, Louisiana to help with his aunts pressing shop. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. John B. Newman Sr. and two brothers Sylvester and William Newman. He leaves to cherish his memory two loving sisters, Estelle (Duncan) Veal, of Houma, LA and Emma E. Reid, of Dayton OH; two nephews John C. Davis, of Dayton and Frank T. (Stephanie) Davis, of Willard, NC; three great nephews, Lamar and Jamar Payton, Darius Davis; one great-nieces Brittany R. Davis all of Dayton. John was a person who loved to dance, joke, and eat cheeseburgers. He was a very fun loving person who could make anyone laugh. He will be missed by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held 11:00AM Friday, September 21, 2007 at Greencastle Cemetery, 2045 Nicholas Rd. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton Chapel.
