John N. Whitt
John Nelson Whitt, age 81, of Springboro, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011.
John was born February 11, 1930 in Dayton, to the late Oliver & Anna Barbara Whitt.
John served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was a proof reader for the Cincinnati Post/Times Star, Dayton Press and Mead Data Central.
John volunteered at the Kettering Medical Center, Cox Arboretum and Clearcreek Township Life Squad.
He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
John is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Veeda Whitt; sons, Norman (Alice) Whitt and Gary Whitt; grandchildren, Amanda Cunningham, and Thomas (Jillian) Whitt; great-grandchildren, Austin, Julia, Aubrey and Josie; brothers, Jack (Blanche) Whitt and James Whitt; and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their loving care.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 1-3pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). A memorial service will follow at 3pm.
Donations may be made in John's memory to Cox Arboretum or Crossroads Hospice.
