John Douglas Mosley, age 62 passed away surrounded by family on the evening of Thursday, April, 28th, 2022 at Kettering Health Main Campus Hospital.
John was born on September 3, 1959 to Arlan and Margie Mosley in Dayton, Ohio and he spent the majority of his life in Dayton. John was preceded in death by his mother Margie Whittington, father Arlan Mosley, brother Arlan Mosley, Jr., son Daniel Mosley, step-mother Janet Mosley and many other relatives and friends.
John was a man who would do anything for the people he loved and spent the years surrounded by his family and friends. Their photos filled the walls of his Centerville home. John spent the last 32 years of his life sober and he enjoyed going to AA meetings and doing service work at the Southside Club in Kettering, Ohio. John taught everyone a lot about life and especially about second chances. After battling his struggles with alcohol abuse at a young age, he suffered an almost fatal car accident in 1989. After the accident, John turned his life around and this sparked his new chapter of sobriety that continued throughout the rest of his life. Most of his life was spent telling jokes and making the people close to him smile and laugh. He loved dancing and listening to music and spending time and eating meals with his daughter and his grandchildren and he enjoyed watching his grandchildren as they grew up. He also enjoyed tinkering with cars and trucks and doing outdoor yard work. John was a father, brother, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many and some knew him as Douggie, Mo, Froggy or Johnny.
John is survived by: his daughter Holly Berry, son-in-law Kelly Berry, grandchildren: Tyler Berry, Trinity Berry, Tallan Berry, Brooklynn Mosley and Mason Mosley, sisters: Vicki Force (Steve), Kim Mosley, Ruth Craig, brothers: Mike Mosley (Teresa), Terry Mosley, and Carl Nunn and a host of other special relatives and friends.
